Who is the Best Men's Life coach for You?
Today, more men are starting to discover how positively impactful it can be in their life to work with a men’s life coach. There can be many reasons why you are looking for a men’s life coach today.
A life coach can help you improve your relationships, build skills and confidence, achieve important goals, and ultimately, become the kind of man you desire to be.
Throughout our life, we can get very busy with work, relationships, friendships, children, and all the other things we deal with in our day-to-day life. However, getting started, staying consistent, and making real changes last can be challenging.
Working with a coach will help you to achieve faster results with greater focus, support, and accountability. This will provide you with less anxiety, doubt, and worry.
As a men’s life coach for over five years, I’ve noticed the pattern many of my clients went through by the time they reached out to me. After providing many consultations, I realized many men were not even close to being ready to work with a life coach. By the time they realized this, they wasted a lot of their time and the time of each coach they spoke with.
No matter what you want to change in your life, selecting the right men’s life coach for you is very important. There are ways to help you in this process and I would like to provide you with some help here.
Here are some tips to help find the right men’s life coach for you.
First, be ready for coaching.
This means your tired of being where you're at and you're ready to learn, grow and develop as a man. If you truly want different results in your life, you’re going to have to gain and apply new knowledge and understanding. This may take some time.
Also, are you someone who is coachable. Are you willing and open to learning new things, apply them and be held accountable? Coaching will only be effective if you are.
Second, have the finances to invest in coaching.
Coaching is just like any other professional service. If you are in a situation where you may be struggling financially, it is not the time to be looking for a life coach. The investment can be anywhere from a few hundred dollars to literally tens of thousands of dollars. It really comes down to who and what you want coaching for.
You can expect a good professional coach to charge a minimum of $75 dollars an hour. Anything less, you’re most likely not talking to a qualified professional coach. Coaching is an investment in yourself. If you have any doubts as to if you can afford life coaching, you’re most likely not ready to start.
Third, get through therapy first.
Coaching is not therapy. Therapy is about working through your past, with little outside support and accountability, and mentorship. Coaching can be done along with therapy, but it is best to have this part dealt with as much as possible.
Does it mean you have to be perfect and never need therapy again? No. I still work on myself through therapy as needed. But, I stay focused on this moment and moving forward towards my goals and the man I want to be.
Coaching is about helping you where you are right now and providing you with support, accountability, and guidance for you to reach your goals or what ever you want to achieve.
Fourth, do your research.
Before you schedule a consultation with a men’s life coach, do your research by taking the time to visit different coaching websites to see who you connect with. Ask yourself, is this someone who I would like to be my life coach?
Read through the entire contents of their website. You will discover the kind of people they work with, their experience, testimonials, and information about themselves.
Take notes and pay close attention to this information.
After this, visit their blog and read several posts. See if you connect with what they share, their views, beliefs, and attitude toward certain topics.
Next, listen to their podcast and watch videos from their YouTube channel, if they have these.
By the time you go through their website, read some of their blog posts, listened to their podcast, and perhaps their Youtube channel, you should have a good idea of who they are and if they are someone you would like to have as a life coach.
Fifth, be ready to make a decision.
Being able to make decisions is a skill every man should have. You should be ready to make a decision by the end of the consultation call to move forward or not. If you have to discuss the financial decision with someone, make sure you do this before the call.
It can be intimidating to make a decision because you are worried about making the right decision.
Most of the anxiety comes from your thoughts of failing in the past. You may wonder if you can do what is necessary to make the changes you want or if you can even get closer to achieving what you want.
You may have tried many times to change, with little success, and your confidence can be very low. You must remember why you want a coach in the first place.
Why is it important for you to make the changes you want in your life? There needs to be a strong enough reason. If there isn't a strong enough reason, you are truly wasting your money and time in working with a life coach.
Also, it is not a life-or-death decision. You can pay for a few sessions and see how it goes. Give it your all during this time you are working with this coach.
Go with the intention of making a decision to move forward.
Remember, have a consultation with only the coach you are excited to work with.
At last, you are now ready to schedule a consultation with the person you connected with the most. Do not schedule multiple consultations with different coaches.
Once again this is a waste of your time and the coaches' time. Do the above work first, then you’re ready to proceed.
The coach you schedule a consultation with is someone you should be excited to work with.
Also, keep in mind, the coach is also interviewing you.
Why would someone want to coach you? Professional coaches will be very selective in who they take on as a client. No coach wants to waste their time trying to coach someone who is not ready, not motivated to do the work, or is not open to change.
Either way, if for some reason it was not a good match, then schedule a consultation with the next person you felt would be a coach for you.
If you followed the tips I suggested, you will find the right coach for you. Give the coach you have chosen a solid chance to work with you.
If you connect with him, don’t waste any more time. Sign up for his coaching and get started on your goals and become the man you desire to be.
All my best,
