Men's Health Month 2020
Men's health month is about bringing to light the issues that men face and how to solve them.
It is not so much to discuss what men are struggling with. It is about opening the discussion as to the solution to these struggles.
When I was in the depths of struggling physically and mentally, I had to realize the skills I had at that time where not going to help me get out of my struggles with PTSD, anxiety, past traumatic events.
The struggles are the same. Stress.
When it all gets boiled down to what is causing men to suffer from chronic diseases it's stress. However, let me back up just a minute.
It is men's health month. Have you seen anything promoting men's health this month? And, I am not talking about building muscles here. There is a lot more to men's health than building muscle.
There are more important things in life than building muscles. Yes, we do need muscles, and strength training should be one aspect to one's PHYSICAL health, however, there is also mental health, social health, and everything else that impacts our life.
When I started my men's coaching practice, I first focused on men's health because I knew men were struggling with physical and mental health issues.
Today, we are facing a tremendous amount of uncertainty. There is a lot of pain and frustration right now. Mental health should be taken seriously. Us men can be extremely hard on ourselves mentally.
